Introducing the new painting “WOMAN IN BLUE”
Women have a well kept-secret: they are beautiful and strong.
I am not talking here about what they show on the outside, the way they look.
It is not about a perfect make-up and a tight butt.
This particular strength and beauty are present in every woman, from the supermodel on the runway to the exhausted mom juggling between cooking dinner and the kids’ homework.
We all have it.
True beauty, true power.
It is a part of us, it is our heritage.
It is often so discreet, it might be hard to see.
But it is right there if you take the time to look.
Sometimes just a glimpse in a woman’s eyes…
In this new painting, I tried to capture such a moment: softness and intensity of the eyes, partially hidden in a blue veil built out of polymer paste to surround the woman’s face and protect her secret.
Women are beautiful and strong!

Introducing a new children’s mural:
“Underwater Playground”
Children have an uncanny ability to access imaginary worlds filled with knights in armor, playful dragons and heroic deeds….
Or pink ponies, magic castles and princesses.
Any world they please, actually.
Toys are just a way to support the journey to the dream universe they decide to create.
So is their bedroom or playroom décor.
When our children play, reality disappears and their imagination takes over. Sometimes I wish I could see what they see, but it’s a game where you really can’t peek. For a moment, they live on their own inaccessible planet.
Beam me up too, Scotty.
Their ability to create a new world and travel through it is totally fascinating.
The children’s murals I create are conceived to be windows to a fantasy universe, portals to access dream worlds.
Here are a few pictures of one of my latest portals…
Enjoy!

Introducing the new painting series “COOPER’S BEACH”
I love the beach.
Not as a roasting body parked on a towel, oiled to perfection and oblivious of the sea.
More as an observer, all senses on alert, witness to the colors, sounds and smell of the waves, the gliding motion of the seagulls, the sticky sand between my toes.
I like matter.
I like to touch, to feel, to experience.
Rough or smooth texture, just being in the moment of the touch.
Makes me feel alive, right there.
My favorite beach ever is Cooper’s Beach in Southampton, NY. Beautiful sand, crashing waves, always plenty of space and life out there. Whatever the season and the weather, I’m home on that beach.
To express its beautiful intensity, I chose to use modeling paste for volume and texture, natural pigments for color, and transparent polymers that seal the underlying Japanese paper waves in a frozen motion.
